PANDICULATION….
PANDICULATION
Your Body’s Natural Reset Button
Pandiculation is the body’s natural urge to stretch, yawn, and move, especially after resting or staying in one position. Gentle, voluntary pandiculation can help release muscular tension, improve mobility, increase body awareness, and encourage relaxation.
5 Simple Pandiculation Movements
1. Full Body Stretch
Reach your arms overhead, lengthen through your entire body, breathe deeply, then slowly relax.
2. Cat-Cow Stretch
Move gently between rounding and arching your spine while connecting each movement with your breath.
3. Side Stretch
Reach one arm overhead and gently lean to the opposite side. Breathe, then repeat on the other side.
4. Gentle Neck Movements
Slowly move your head from side to side or make comfortable partial circles to release neck and shoulder tension. Avoid forcing the neck into a full backward roll.
5. Seated Forward Bend
Lengthen your spine, then gently fold forward to stretch the back of the body and hamstrings.
Benefits May Include:
Reduced muscular tension and stiffness
Improved flexibility and mobility
Increased body awareness
A greater sense of relaxation
Gentle support for nervous system regulation
Listen to your body, move slowly, breathe deeply, and never force a stretch.
Stretch. Yawn. Move. Release.
Move your body folks! If you don't move it....you know what happens....
With love, Eileen
