SIMPLE WAYS TO HELP REGULATE YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM
Sometimes taking care of yourself doesn’t require a complicated routine. It can begin with something incredibly simple.
A slow breath.
A walk outside.
A good cry.
A conversation with someone you trust.
A little movement.
A little rest.
A moment to simply come back to yourself.
Our nervous systems are constantly responding to what is happening around us and within us. When life feels overwhelming, small practices can help create moments of calm, connection, and grounding.
Breathe deeply
Hum, sing, or chant
Ground yourself in the present moment
Move your body
Cool and refresh
Talk it out
Let go and release
Rest and recharge
Nourish yourself
And please… don’t forget to choose joy!
You don’t have to do all ten. Choose ONE. Sometimes one small act of care is enough to begin shifting how you feel.
And remember, regulation doesn’t mean being calm every second of every day. It’s about developing ways to support yourself as you move through stress, emotion, change, and everyday life.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to feel.
You are allowed to need support.
And you are allowed to choose what helps you come home to yourself.
You’ve got this.
