Nervous system reset…

NERVOUS SYSTEM RESET — REST • RELEASE • RECONNECT

Let me ask you something, my beautiful souls...

When was the last time you allowed yourself to REST without feeling guilty?

Not scrolling, planning, worrying, or thinking about everything you SHOULD be doing.

Just YOU, your body, and your breath.

We live in a world that tells us to DO MORE, PUSH HARDER, and KEEP GOING!

But sometimes the most loving thing we can do is SLOW DOWN!

LET'S TALK ABOUT CHILD'S POSE (BALASANA)!

This gentle, grounding yoga posture invites us to pause, soften, and reconnect with ourselves.

BENEFITS

May help calm the mind and ease stress.

Gently stretches the back, hips, and shoulders.

Encourages slow, mindful breathing.

Helps release everyday muscular tension.

Promotes grounding and body awareness.

Reminds us that REST is important, too!

HOW TO PRACTICE

Begin kneeling with your big toes together and knees comfortably apart.

Slowly lower your hips toward your heels and reach your arms forward.

Rest your forehead on the mat or a supportive pillow.

Breathe gently. Relax your shoulders and jaw.

NO forcing. NO pushing. Just honoring YOUR body!

CONTRAINDICATIONS & PRECAUTIONS

Knee, hip, or ankle injuries: Modify or avoid if uncomfortable.

Pregnancy: Widen your knees, avoid belly compression, and use supportive props.

Recent abdominal surgery: Avoid pressure on the abdomen until medically cleared.

Uncontrolled high blood pressure or glaucoma: Seek medical guidance before practicing head-down positions.

Vertigo or breathing difficulties: Keep your head and chest elevated or choose another position.

Never push through pain, dizziness, numbness, or difficulty breathing.

A seated forward rest or comfortable supported position is always an option!

HERE'S YOUR REMINDER...

You don't have to earn your rest.

You don't have to exhaust yourself to deserve a break.

And you don't have to prove your worth by constantly DOING!

REST IS NOT LAZINESS. REST IS SELF-CARE!

Your body is your lifelong companion. Listen to it. Love it. Respect it.

QUESTION: Can you relax without feeling guilty, or does your mind immediately start making another to-do list?

Hugs & Love,
Eileen
