Release stress and anxiety….
RELEASE STRESS & ANXIETY STORED WITHIN YOUR BODY
Ever notice that your brain says, “I’m fine!” while your shoulders are practically touching your ears, your jaw is clenched, and your entire body is saying, “Ummm…NO WE ARE NOT!”
Stress doesn’t always show up as a thought. Sometimes we experience it as tension, tightness, shallow breathing, restlessness, or that feeling that we just can’t completely relax.
That’s why sometimes we need to work with the BODY, not just the mind.
Try a few simple movements:
NECK: Gently tilt your ear toward your shoulder. Breathe. Switch sides.
JAW: Unclench! Open your mouth like a big, glorious yawn. Gently move your jaw and let it soften.
SHOULDERS: Roll them DOWN, BACK and AWAY from those ears. Let go of some of what you’ve been carrying.
BACK: Move through Cat & Cow and allow your spine to move with your breath.
CHEST: Place your hands over your chest and take a few slow breaths, allowing your exhale to lengthen naturally.
BELLY: Lie down, place a hand on your belly, and simply notice it rise and fall as you breathe.
HANDS: Spread those fingers WIDE…then gently make fists. Open. Close. Release.
WHOLE BODY: Close your eyes and slowly scan from head to toe. Where are you gripping? Where can you soften—even just 5%?
You don’t need some giant hour-long ritual every time life gets overwhelming.
Sometimes it’s a shoulder roll.
Sometimes it’s a deep breath.
Sometimes it’s lying on the floor and declaring, “I LIVE HERE NOW.”
Small practices can create meaningful shifts.
A calmer mind.
A lighter body.
A little more YOU.
Breathe. Move. Release. Be You.
Love, Eileen
